Terms of Service
Welcome to The Meridian Sanctuary (the “Sanctuary,” “Service,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). The Meridian Sanctuary is a digital offering of Meridian Wellness, which is operated by Live Well Acupuncture, Inc. The Glowing Lotus LLC provides development and administrative services for The Meridian Sanctuary and may administer certain Sanctuary digital transactions on behalf of the Sanctuary. The Sanctuary is accessed through the website located at sanctuary.meridianwellnessoc.com.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Sanctuary. Please read them carefully. By creating an account, purchasing a membership, or otherwise using the Sanctuary, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the Sanctuary.
Section 1Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or purchase a membership. By using the Sanctuary, you represent that you are at least 18 and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract. The Sanctuary is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Section 2Accounts
To access most of the Sanctuary, you must create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
- Keep your login credentials confidential.
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
- Take responsibility for all activities that occur under your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, provide false information, or use the Sanctuary in a manner we determine, in our reasonable discretion, to be harmful to the Sanctuary or its members.
Section 3Memberships and Purchases
The Sanctuary offers paid memberships (recurring subscription) and one-time purchases of individual content, including “Deeper” pieces and Personal Guidance. By purchasing, you authorize the Sanctuary — and, where applicable, The Glowing Lotus LLC as administrator of certain Sanctuary digital transactions — together with our third-party payment processor, currently Stripe, Inc., to charge the payment method you provide.
Subscription memberships
Memberships are billed on a recurring basis at the frequency and price disclosed to you at checkout (for example, monthly). Your membership will automatically renew at the end of each billing period at the then-current price until you cancel. You may cancel at any time through your account settings or the Stripe-hosted customer portal. Cancellation stops future renewals; you will retain access through the end of the current paid billing period. We will provide any subscription notices required by applicable law.
One-time purchases
Individual content purchases grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to access that content through your Sanctuary account for as long as we continue to offer it.
Pricing, taxes, and changes
We may change prices or membership terms at any time. Price changes will not affect the current billing period of an active subscription. You are responsible for any applicable taxes.
Section 4Refund Policy
Refund eligibility is described in our Refund Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
Section 5License to Use the Sanctuary
Subject to your compliance with these Terms and payment of applicable fees, we grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable license to access and use the Sanctuary and its content for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not:
- Copy, reproduce, distribute, publicly display, or create derivative works from any content of the Sanctuary, except as expressly permitted.
- Share your account credentials with any other person.
- Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security-related features of the Sanctuary.
- Use the Sanctuary to violate any applicable law or the rights of any third party.
- Scrape, mine, or otherwise extract data from the Sanctuary by automated means.
All content in the Sanctuary — including but not limited to written material, audio, video, imagery, guides, and design — is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
Section 6Member Submissions and Personal Guidance
When you submit content to the Sanctuary — including questions, reflections, prompts, or other information you provide in connection with a Personal Guidance request — you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use that content solely for the purpose of providing the requested Service to you. Your submissions are handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Personal Guidance is a personalized service through which Jenna and/or Farbod prepare a written, audio, or video response addressed to you. To provide this service, we review the information you submit and use it to prepare and deliver your personalized response through your My Sanctuary area. Please see the Privacy Policy for how this information is handled.
You agree not to submit content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, abusive, obscene, or that infringes the rights of others.
Section 7Not Medical, Mental Health, or Professional Advice
The Meridian Sanctuary is a digital offering of educational, contemplative, spiritual, and general-wellbeing content. The Sanctuary is not a medical, psychological, psychiatric, mental-health treatment, or emergency service. The content, teachings, practices, and communications delivered through the Sanctuary — including through Personal Guidance — are provided for educational, contemplative, and general-wellbeing purposes only, and are not a substitute for, and should not be used in place of, care from a licensed physician, psychologist, psychiatrist, therapist, or other qualified healthcare provider.
Nothing offered through the Sanctuary is intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical, psychological, or psychiatric condition. Reliance on any information provided through the Sanctuary is solely at your own risk. Consult a qualified professional before making any decisions related to your health, mental health, or wellbeing.
If you are experiencing a medical or mental health emergency, call 911 (US) or your local emergency number, or contact the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline (US) by dialing or texting 988.
This disclaimer relates specifically to The Meridian Sanctuary and its digital content and services. Meridian Wellness separately operates an in-person acupuncture practice, which is governed by its own separate consents, policies, and applicable professional obligations. Nothing in these Terms redefines, limits, or disclaims those separately provided in-person professional services.
Section 8Practitioner Membership
The Practitioner tier provides access to material oriented toward the person who supports others — including the Healer’s Quarters — as distinct from the general Sanctuary membership, whose material is primarily oriented toward the member’s own personal experience, exploration, and wellbeing.
Practitioner membership is available to people whose work involves healing, wellbeing, care, guidance, personal development, or supporting others. This may include licensed professionals, credentialed practitioners, complementary and holistic practitioners, coaches, guides, facilitators, caregivers, and others who support people through their work.
Practitioner membership is a content-context distinction, not a credential. Enrollment in the Practitioner tier does not confer a professional credential, does not constitute certification, does not verify qualifications, does not authorize anyone to practice a regulated profession, does not imply endorsement by Live Well Acupuncture, Inc., Meridian Wellness, or The Meridian Sanctuary, and does not replace any license, certification, training, or legal requirement applicable to a member’s own work.
Section 9Third-Party Services and Amazon Associates
The Sanctuary integrates with third-party providers, including Stripe (payments), Resend (email delivery), Cloudflare (media storage and delivery), and our database and hosting providers. The Sanctuary may also contain links to third-party websites, including affiliate links (for example, Amazon Associates links presented on The Sanctuary Shelf). We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of third parties. Your use of third-party services is governed by their own terms.
We participate in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Affiliate relationships associated with The Sanctuary Shelf may be administered on behalf of the Sanctuary by The Glowing Lotus LLC. Our editorial recommendations are not influenced by affiliate commissions.
Section 10Disclaimer of Warranties
The Sanctuary and all content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including without limitation warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or that the Sanctuary will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
We do not warrant that any content is accurate, complete, or up-to-date.
Section 11Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event shall Live Well Acupuncture, Inc., The Glowing Lotus LLC (in its capacity as an administrator of the Sanctuary or administrator of certain Sanctuary digital transactions), or their respective affiliates, owners, officers, employees, or agents be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Sanctuary.
Our aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Sanctuary shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages; in such jurisdictions our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Section 12Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Live Well Acupuncture, Inc. and The Glowing Lotus LLC (in its capacity as an administrator of the Sanctuary or administrator of certain Sanctuary digital transactions), and their respective affiliates, owners, officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to your violation of these Terms, your use of the Sanctuary, or your violation of any rights of a third party.
Section 13Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Sanctuary at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms. Upon termination, your license to use the Sanctuary ends, but Sections 5 (intellectual property), 7 (no medical or professional advice), 10–12 (disclaimers, liability, indemnification), and 14 (governing law and venue) will survive.
Section 14Governing Law and Venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Sanctuary shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Orange County, California, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. This provision is subject to any non-waivable rights available to you under applicable law.
Section 15Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last Updated” date above and, for material changes, notify you by email or through the Sanctuary. Your continued use of the Sanctuary after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
Section 16Miscellaneous
- Entire Agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Live Well Acupuncture, Inc. regarding the Sanctuary. Where these Terms expressly extend rights, protections, or benefits to The Glowing Lotus LLC (including without limitation Sections 11 and 12), The Glowing Lotus LLC is an intended third-party beneficiary of those specific provisions and may enforce them directly. Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, joint venture, or joint ownership between Live Well Acupuncture, Inc. and The Glowing Lotus LLC.
- Severability. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force.
- No Waiver. Our failure to enforce any right or provision is not a waiver of that right or provision.
- Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent. We may assign these Terms freely.
